this is the logo I decided to use for my production company, "LA MEZCLA PRODUCTION"
I edited the image on photoshop and added the name.
MEZCLA is a spanish word and translated in english it means " The Mix"

Grave Encounters FULL MOVIE ANALYSIS

FULL TEXTUAL ANALYSIS .

CINEMATOGRAPHY

under the aspect of cinematography this trailer is very interesting.
just like "paranormal activity" the trailer has shots that are mainly made from a camera carried around. they cannot be properly defined as a specific type of shot.
some of the shots are made by steady cameras but from different angles , often high and low.
there are a number of facial close ups and mid shots showing different body parts.

EDITING

the editing is very limited in this trailer especially if we talk about special effects.
there are just a limited amount of special effect ( e.g the face of the girl at the end) .
different shots are mainly separated by the trailer writings.
night vision is often used and the use of flash in the camera is used as well.

SOUND

the sound is mostly diagetic in the trailer.
there are many screams and speeches of the actors in the movie. there is no voice over (e.g the classic deep voice in most of the trailers)
also in this trailer there are very disturbing sounds not related to the movie but just used to scare the audience.

MISE EN SCENE

the location of the trailer is very interesting and is definitely existing.
the clothes worn by the actors in the movie are casual clothes .
the "ghosts" are wearing whit clothes in order to represent the people living in the building years ago.
some of cuts and injuries the actors have are fake and made with make up .

5. "Paranormal Activity" FULL TEXTUAL ANALYSIS

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY FULL TEXTUAL ANALYSIS

CINEMATOGRAPHY :

In this trailer the cinematography is fairly simple. there are two main types of camera shots. one is the steady camera on a high angle that
shows all the room where the movie is taking place; and the other shots are the one made from the camera held by the actor.
the shots made with the camera held by the actor are few such as close ups and mid shots.
there also few other shots showing the cinema where the movie is projected , these are shots made with steady shots.

EDITING

There is not a very big use of editing. there are few special effects of doors closing and covers moving but they are not necessarily made with computer. there are very basic transition between a shot and another.
an interesting fact is the switching between the actual movie and the cinema room .
a special effect which has been used mostly of the time is the night vision.

SOUND

there is not a main soundtrack in the trailer.
the sounds in the trailer are only very disturbing and surrounded by the noise of doors slamming and people screaming.
there are few disturbing speeches between the actors.

MISE EN SCENE

The mise en scene is fairly basic.
there costumes worn by the 2 actors are casual clothes .
and the apartment where the movie is shot is a very normal apartment with nothing particular.

4. MOVIE GENRE OF TRAILER.

the genre of film i want to make a trailer of is horror movie.
i was inspired by few movies which recently have made a huge success; such as paranormal activity , rec  and grave encounters.
in order to identify the genre i came up with some identifying  traits of the genre:
1- it is created in order to scare people
2- the soundtracks are very "scary".
3- it is mostly recorded in night
4- the actors must be innocent people
5- there are many twists
in my trailer i need to include few basics things:
1- a very scary soundtrack in order to keep the audience in suspence.
2- a night vision camera in order to be able to record scenes at night and make the movie look  scary.
3- i will need few "scary" phrases to introduce in the trailer
4- i will need a horrifying to put in the trailer in order to shock the audience.
